Qualities of a good friend

I think there is a wide variety of qualities that can make someone a good friend. Depending on who you are as a person, different qualities of a person can appeal to you. I personally think it is very important to find someone who has great communication skills. I am a very talkative person, and it bother me when people do not address their needs and wants. I can not make friends with people that can not give good advice or are too selfish to listen to listen to other problems other than their own. One thing I think everyone can agree on wanting when making new friends is someone who has the same interests as them. When two people get long and share the same desires, it builds a strong and close friendship. Although nobody has the same exact interests, you should find joy in taking the time to listen or watch your friends perform their hobbies and passions. These are only a few great qualities of a good friend.

Most Important Relationship to Me

I am a very social person who is also very family oriented so I value all of the relationships that come into my life. Over time though, I realize how important some of the people in my life truly are. It seems that loved ones are sometimes in your life for not long enough. The bond I have with my mom is probably one of the most valued in my life. Ever since I lost my dad in June, I realized that I often take my parents for granted without knowing it. I value the relationship I share with my mother so much because I now understand that time spent together is precious and never guaranteed. My mother has always showed me unconditional love for all of my life. Despite the multiple times I’ve disappointed her, she hasn’t given up on me. I am forever thankful to have a strong mom who goes out of her way for our family and always exceeds to meet out needs. This is why she is only of the most important people to me.

Is school too long?

I think no matter what student you ask, majority of them will agree that the school year is too long. By the end of the school year, students are drained and exhausted. Even the most productive, hard working student will feel overwhelmed at the end of the long nine months. Some may argue that we receive many breaks through out the year, but they do not compare to the many days we are actually in school doing work. The short breaks we do get are thanks to the holidays, but even then students do not have time to relax since they are busy running errands. I believe that shortening the school year by just a month would be beneficial to all those in a school setting.

Things I worry about

Depending on what it is, I think it is normal for everyone to have worries. I think of myself as a pretty calm person but I do have worries that cross my mind here and there through out my day. Sometimes, I worry about my friendships and relationships ending. Not because I will be upset when it happens, but because I care about my loved ones and I want to be there for them through bad and good times. I’m worried that people I care about will have to go through rough times alone and feel as if they have no one to talk to just because of losing touch or an argument that tears us apart. This is why I try my best to seem easy to talk to. I also fear losing loved ones. I do not want anything to happen to my mom, sisters, or grandparents, and I get worried that something bad could happen when I’m away from them. One last thing that worries me often is the future. It bothers me that I do not know what could happen in my life or to those around me. Although these are just some of my worries, I try not to let them consume my thoughts and always try to think of the good instead.

How do you know someone loves you without saying it?

I think there are many ways to say “I love you.” without saying it verbally. One big way people show love without saying it is spending time with someone else while that person is doing something they like. When you love someone you want to know more about their interests and you enjoy watching them while they’re happy. Another way people show love is by wanting someone else to succeed or do better. Pushing somebody to study, practice, and desire to improve are all ways to show affection. Lastly, caring for somebody physically or showing worry is a way to portray the love you have for someone. If they are sick or injuried, being concerned and helping that person shows that you care for them. Saying “I love you.” is not the only way to show that you love someone. Everybody is different and can display love in many various forms.

Teens and love

In my opinion, teens are capable of true and lasting love. One might argue that teenagers are not fully deveoped into who they are meant to become, but when you have a significant other that you truly love, you grow and learn with them as a person. I believe that some mature teens already know what they want in a partner and sometimes, that exact person enters their life. I know many people who have fallen in love at a young age in high school and are still together and married years later. Love is powerful and can gift anybody at any age.

Keeping Secrets

I personally think that keeping secrets is easy to do. When somebody trusts me with personal information, I feel that it is important to not share it with others. It can be hard to not share secrets, but if it saves someone from embarrassment, harm, or other bad intentions then the temptations of gossiping should easily be forgotten. If a particular secret threatens someone else’s safety then I believe the right thing to do is tell someone of authority. Secrets can result in good or bad outcomes and I believe if you can not handle consequences of knowing or telling a secret then you should not partake in secretive conversations.

Love At First Sight

In my opinion, love at first sight is true. I believe that many people think that love at first sight is childish because they do not look at love from all perspectives. When mothers give birth and look at their baby for the first time, I believe that they love them as soon as they lay eyes on them. I also believe that passions are acquired from loving something as soon as you are exposed to it. You may not know it at the time, but the indescribable feeling you get from first watching your passion be performed is love. Although it is not true for everyone, many people that I have talked to have told me that they loved their significant other as soon as they looked at each other. One final reason I believe in love at first sight is because I have felt this feeling. I have fallen in love with things I’ve seen such as vacation destinations, colors, various pieces of art, and animals. Love at first sight is a wonderful thing and could be true to anyone who looks at love with an open mind.

7 Commandments

1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.

2. Whatever goes upon four legs or has wings is a friend.

3. No animal shall wear clothes

4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.

5. No animal shall drink alcohol.

6. No animal shall kill any other animal.

7. All animals are equal.

I think these are good rules for the animals to live by, although they are sometimes broken by the smarter animals. I do not think any problems will occur from these rules.

Positive outcomes of smartphones

Although we are a smartphone obsessed society, I believe there are many good outcomes of the smartphone. People can easily contact their loved ones, share memories with friends and family through social media platforms, and capture some of life’s greatest moments. Cutting back on phone usage should occur as well. There are times when you should record, take pictures, and share things on social media, and times when you should not. People are able to learn more about the world by seeing things on the internet or looking at pictures. Doing research and accessing the internet is made easier by using a smartphone. I think as long as smartphones are not always acquainted with every social outing or occupying a day, then they can be beneficial, fun, and a learning experience.
